Canterbury Tales
Wednesday 11th March 2020

The East Essex Players present this updated version of “Canterbury Tales” by Phil Woods with Michael Bogdanov.
Described as “colourful, boozy and good spirited” this modern version should dispel any misapprehension that Medieval English Literature is dry and academic.
This is, make no mistake about it, a bawdy evening`s entertainment and not for the easily offended.
Written in 1387 these are tales told by a group of pilgrims , who engage in a story telling contest while on the road to visit the shrine of ” Thomas a Becket’.
Some tales will be familiar ...others not so … and as for the Miller`s tale…..!
A satire about human immorality, when no one had heard of being “PC”

Parental guidance advised.

Wed £14 / all other performances £15

Prices shown are inclusive of any applicable booking fees.
