Southend Shakespeare Company present

“By the pricking of my thumbs, Something wicked this way comes.”

Shakespeare’s study in evil remains one of his most popular and compelling plays and arguably his most intense, both in terms of action and the portrayal of human relationships.

Macbeth and Lady Macbeth - the “butcher and his fiend-like queen” - are among the most attractive villains in stage history; as they become slaves to evil, their lives descend into a living nightmare of blood and violence, of which they have no control.

Magic, evil, passion, violence and blood all wrapped up in the lyrical and irresistible language of Shakespeare.

This is an amateur production presented by Southend Shakespeare Company.
