The Visual Arts exhibition preview evening offiically launched the 2010 art display at Southend Central Library which will run until the 30th March.

The Mayor of Southend of Sea Cllr Brian Smith was present and commented on the wealth of artistic talent in the town.

This years exhibition has been organised by our new Visual Arts representative Gina Warner and features over 150 exhibits including craft, textiles, beadwork amongst the attractions.

Judge David Hurrell pronounced Pauline Grove the overall winner with her delightful "Holkham Beach  in February".

Other commendations were given for Terry Stibson, John Smith, Linda Vost, E C Rodway, Sheila Spence, Jane Barnard, Geoffrey Childs and John Richardson, with the 2nd prize being awarded to Dawn Taylor, for her collage "Peruvian Market".
