Southend Musical Festival

Southend on Sea Musical Festival

The Southend Musical Festival is a competitive festival of music and drama, which takes place for two weeks every November at Crowstone Christian Centre, Crowstone Road, Westcliff, SS0 8LH.  It includes classes for Piano, Solo and Choral Singing, Woodwind & Brass, Strings, Ensembles and Speech & Drama and caters for competitors of all ages and abilities.

The full listing of classes and entry stipulations is in the Syllabus which is published around the beginning of June and can be found online at  Hard copies of the Syllabus are available at various local outlets and also by application to the Secretary, on 01702-341195.

The closing date for entries is always the last Saturday in the September preceding the festival.

Members of the public are very welcome to come along and enjoy the performances - there is an amazing wealth of musical and dramatic talent in the Southend area.

A modest admission fee is charged (£1 for a 3-hour session, or £2 for the whole day, which is usually 3 sessions long).

Refreshments are available at Crowstone Christian Centre and you will find a warm welcome there on cold November days!

For information about the Festival, please contact the Honorary General Secretary, Annette Forkin, on 01702-341195
